SPOKANE, Wash- Gonzaga Volleyball continues to build for the future with the addition of three new signings for next season. Head Coach JT Wenger announced the signings of Aurie Duncan, Dani Clewis, and Lucy Slavik on Wednesday, declaring that the Zags are "so excited to welcome Aurie, Dani, Lucy and their families to the Gonzaga Volleyball program. They will be great Zags as they thrive athletically, academically and in the community."
Aurie Duncan
Setter/Opposite Hitter | Hamilton High School / Hamilton, Montana
Duncan brings extra versatility to the Zag rotation by playing as both a setter and an opposite hitter. An All-State selection for Class A in Montana in 2024, Duncan's consistency and commitment to self improvement included driving four hours from Montana to Washington for prep volleyball practice and matches. Coach Wenger described Duncan as "a dynamic athlete who will advance the program in various ways. Â She is long, athletic, competitive and has a fast arm as an attacker. She is also an accomplished setter, which adds to her versatility."
Dani Clewis
Setter | West Ranch High School / Valencia, California
A selection to the AVCA All-Region Team for California, Clewis brings a wide range of talents from setting to blocking in the front row. Named a "California Class of 2026 rising stock" by Prep Dig, Clewis brings years of experience as a star with Legacy Volleyball Club to the Zags as she begins her collegiate career. A fit for a high energy Zags Volleyball program, Wenger stated that she "is an aggressive competitor and athlete. Â She has a significant court presence and, as a setter, creates advantageous situations for her attackers. Â She is springy and explosive, which allows her to make tough plays look easy".
Lucy Slavik
Middle Blocker | Bishop Blanchet High School/ Seattle, Washington
An in-state signee, Slavik will continue her successful volleyball career in Spokane when she joins the Zags next season, having previously led Bishop Blanchet to a 19-3 overall season in the Metro League. A 6'3" Middle Blocker, Slavik will be a key central part of the Zags defense and net front presence. Prep Dig described her as a defender that "knows how to put up an intimidating block" while moving her up in their Washington state rankings, a sign of the high regard for her impact in games in the region. Coach Wenger is "thrilled to add a native Washingtonian to our 2026 class! Lucy has excellent blocking savvy and a nose for the ball. She is quick laterally and takes a ton of space above the net as a blocker. Offensively, she runs routes into seams and puts stress on opponent's blockers."
