Gonzaga Baseball Announces 2026 Schedule

SPOKANE, Wash- Gonzaga Baseball unveiled the 2026 schedule on Wednesday, playing a full slate of 52 regular season games.

Head coach Mark Machtolf will begin his 23rd season at the helm and 36th season overall at Gonzaga in the 2026 season. Machtolf has 623 wins during his tenure at GU, needing just 15 more wins to pass Steve Hertz for the most career wins in program history. Entering the final year of Gonzaga's membership in the WCC, Machtolf has more than double the total career wins of every other active coach in the conference.

The Zags will play 18 home games in Spokane, while competing in a further 34 contests on the road. The season will open with a run of 21 straight away games, with the Zags playing seven road series before their home opener on March 24th.

Gonzaga Baseball will play against 19 different schools and will play a game in nine different states in the regular season. The Zags will play teams from eight different conferences, taking on representatives of the Big 10, Big East, Big West, Missouri Valley, Mountain West, SEC and Sun Belt in addition to matchups with the rest of the WCC.

The season begins with the furthest away trip of the season, as the Zags will take on Hawaii in a four game series from February 13th through 16th  in Honolulu. This is the first time Gonzaga has played in Hawaii since 2013.

GU will then travel to play against Texas State for a three game series from February 20th through 22nd. This is only the second meeting ever between the two future PAC 12 opponents. The Zags will take on Oklahoma in Norman in a three-game stretch from February 27th through the first of March.

March kicks off the busiest month of the year, with 17 games on the docket. The Zags will travel to Creighton on the 6th through 8th of March before continuing on to for two games against Minnesota on the 10th and 11th. The nearly two-month long stretch of road games will include a series at Indiana State from the 13th through the 15th of March. Gonzaga last played against Indiana State in 2000, and the Sycamores the least familiar opponent on the schedule this year.

WCC conference play will begin on the road at San Diego on March 20th. The first home game in Spokane for the season is slated for March 24th, when Washington State takes on the Zags on that Tuesday night. This will be the first of three meetings with the Cougars this year. Washington State is the most commonly played opponent in program history.

Matchups against Pacific (March 27 through 29) and Nevada (a home game on March 30) close out the month before turning the page to April. The Zags play another 16 games in April, taking on Pepperdine at home before playing a two game series at Washington on the 6th and 7th of April. Conference series against Portland, Saint Mary's and LMU bookend a matchup against Washington State. The Zags close the month with a matchup against Oregon in Eugene.

May will close out with a home series against Santa Clara on the 1st through the 3rd, a final home meeting with Washington State, and then final week of conference play. The Zags close the book on their time in the WCC with a three game series against Seattle, with the final regular season game in the WCC taking place in Spokane on May 16th. The WCC Conference tournament is scheduled to begin on May 20.

Individual game tickets will be made available for purchase soon. Family Passes and Season tickets will also be available on GoZags.com before the holiday season.
