CHICAGO- Gonzaga pitcher Justin Feld signed with the Chicago White Sox as an undrafted free agent to begin his professional career after graduating from GU.
Justin Feld was the Friday night starter for the Zags through the majority of the 2026 season, making 11 starts across 16 appearances while throwing a career high 66 innings. He had a 8-2 record as a starter while throwing a 4.77 ERA on the season. An increase in fastball velocity up to a high of 97 miles per hour helped power a 2 to 1 K to BB ratio this year, with 62 punchouts to just 31 walks surrendered. Feld had 26 strikeouts looking, tied with Max Bayles for the most by any pitcher in the WCC in the 2026 season.
He was named to the WCC First All-Conference in 2026, building on an Honorable Mention in his sophomore season. He finished his GU career with 162 strikeouts across 183 innings, allowing just a .262 batting average to opponents and picking up 15 wins.
Justin Feld will join Liam Paddack (a 2024 draft pick who is currently with the AA Birmingham Barons) as the second Zag to join the Chicago White Sox system in the past two years.
