Zags Dominate in 84-63 Win at Washington State

Hickman scores 23; Ike adds 17 points and 13 rebounds

SPOKANE, Wash. – In front of the first sellout crowd in Beasley Coliseum in 15 years, Gonzaga picked up a dominant 84-63 road win over Washington State Wednesday.
 
Nolan Hickman was one point off his career-high with 23 points, with four made three-pointers and five assists, to lead the Zags (21-7, 12-3 West Coast Conference) to their fifth straight win. Graham Ike contributed his sixth double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Colorado native made all seven of his shots from the free-throw line. Michael Ajayi and Braden added 12 and 11 points off the bench.
 
After falling behind 8-2 to start the game, the Bulldogs led for 35 minutes in the contest. GU had a 50-28 advantage at halftime, and then had its largest lead, 59-34, five minutes into second half.
 
Gonzaga made 52 percent of its shots from the field, including 7-of-15 from three-point range. The Cougars (16-12, 6-9 WCC) were held to 41 percent from the field, and 9-for-25 from behind-the-arc. The Zags finished with a 35-28 edge on the boards, while outscoring WSU in the paint, 38-24.
 
LeJuan Watts led Washington State with 19 points and five assists. Isaiah Watts and Tomas Thrastarson both scored 12 points.

In its final home game of the season, Gonzaga hosts No. 24 Saint Mary's Saturday at 5 p.m. The Gaels (24-4, 14-1) won their fourth consecutive game Wednesday, beating Portland in Moraga, 79-66.
