LAHAINA, Hawaii – Gonzaga's
Grace Lee took co-medalist honors at the 39
th Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational Wednesday. The three-day 54-hole tournament took place on the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course.
Lee finished 11-under (205) in the event. Her second round 66 (-6) matched the third-lowest round in program history. The junior's 205 tournament total is the second-lowest all-time at GU, only behind her own school record of 200 at the 2023 Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational.
Lee was a tournament-best six-under (3.80) on the course's Par-4 holes, second on Par-5 holes at seven-under (4.42), and was sixth in the 98-golfer field making 12 birdies. Her second round featured eight birdies and eight pars. She was three-under (69) in Round 1, eagling the course's Par-5 seventh hole. Lee carded a 70 (-2) in a bogey-free final round, with two birdies and 15 pars.
It was Lee's second individual title as a Zag, and the second for the team this season after
Taylor Mularski placed first as an individual at the Tri-State Invitational in October.
Gonzaga placed 10
th as a team in Hawaii at 10-over (879). The Bulldogs rose two spots on the leaderboard in the final round with a 291 (+3) team total.
Carys Baek placed 56
th at eight-over (224). Her lowest round was a 72 (E) on Day 1.
Michelle Mogi (+11, 227),
Esther Yoo (+12, 228), and
Darby Rickel (+13, 229) were 72
nd, 75
th, and 78
th. Mularski competed as an individual and placed 85
th at 16-over (232).
Lee shared co-medalist honors with Washington's Vivian Lu. Denver's Emma Bryant and Kyra Ly of Oregon State tied for third at seven-under (209).
Washington took the team title at 19-under (845), while Sacramento State was second at eight-under (856).
