SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Gonzaga Bulldogs delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Men's Cascade Cup 8+ held at the Opening Day Regatta. Lining up against powerhouse Washington, Gonzaga fought hard throughout the 2,000-meter course, finishing with a time of 5:52.292, just behind Washington's winning time of 5:33.845.
"It was a great athlete experience for the guys, Washington does a great job with this race," head coach
Dan Gehnn said. "We handled ourselves well and had a good race against UW's 2V which has a lot of top talent in it. We tried a new line up for the week and it was great to see how that worked in a full 2k."
The Bulldogs had an impressive race and maintained composure in a fast and competitive field with
Finn Dugan at the coxswain seat and
Eli Bunn in the eight seat. Gonzaga passed the 500m mark at 1:25.3, and made a strong push in the final stretch, finishing in 5:52.292.
