CAMDEN, N.J. -- Gonzaga Men's Rowing was back on the water Saturday afternoon, competing in the C/D Semifinal rounds at the 2025 IRA National Championship in New Jersey.
The Bulldogs opened the day in the Men's Collegiate Varsity 2V8 C/D Semifinal. Facing a stacked field that included top crews from California and Yale, Gonzaga's second varsity eight placed sixth with a time of 6:06.84. California led the race wire to wire and crossed first in 5:40.36, followed by Yale and Stanford.
In the Men's Varsity 8+ C/D Semifinal, Gonzaga again lined up against deep, competitive programs. The Zags finished in sixth place, clocking in at 6:01.22. Cornell won the race in 5:34.64, edging La Salle and Boston in a tight three-way sprint to the line.
Both boats will compete in the Fourth-Level Finals on Sunday morning to close out their 2025 IRA campaign. The Second Varsity 8+ will race at 5:38 a.m. Pacific Time, with the Varsity 8+ following at 6:12 a.m.
The IRA National Championship Regatta is the premier event in collegiate men's rowing, featuring over 70 of the top programs from across the country. Live results can be found HERE for all three days of racing. The regatta will be livestreamed on Overnght, although a subscription is required to watch it. At the end of racing each day, a panel will be hosting a live post-race show that will be posted in front of the paywall on Overnght later in the day.Â
