Men’s Tennis Finishes First Day of ITA All-American Championships

Brancehtti and Fairclough play again tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. PT

 TULSA, Okla. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team kicked off 2025-26 campaign this weekend at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Seniors Giovanni Branchetti and Jay Fairclough represented the Zags in doubles competition, drawing one of the nation's top-ranked pairs in their opener.

Facing North Carolina's No. 5 seeded duo of Niels Ratiu and Chris Xu in the Round of 32, the Bulldogs battled through a tight three-set contest. After dropping the first set 6-4, Branchetti and Fairclough responded with a thrilling 7-6(5) tiebreak. The deciding super tiebreak went in favor of the Tar Heels, 10-3, ending Gonzaga's first day of play.

The Zags will return to the courts tomorrow in the doubles consolation draw against Oklahoma State at 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time
