SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Gonzaga's
Graham Ike was named the West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week following his 34-point performance against Santa Clara.
Ike was one point off his career-high with 34 points in the win over Santa Clara. In the Zags' lone game of the week, he did finish with his Gonzaga career-high point total. Ike's 13 made shots from the field were a career-high and the third-most in the WCC this season, while his point total and field goals made were the most by a league player in a WCC game this season.
The Colorado native finished 13-of-17 from the field, including 1-for-1 from three-point range. Ike added 11 rebounds, for his conference-leading 10th double-double of the season, which ranks fourth in the nation.
Ike is the nation's active leading scorer with 2,261 points, and his 864 made field goals are also the most by an active player. Ike's 1,042 rebounds rank second among active players, along with his 41 double-doubles.
Ike currently ranks third in the WCC in scoring (17.8), second in rebounds (8.6), and second in field goal percentage (.542). In conference games, he ranks second in scoring (19.6), first in rebounds (9.4), and second in field goal percentage (.672).
This is the third time this season that Ike has won conference player of the week, and the Bulldogs now own five conference weekly awards this season.
