SPOKANE, Wash- Gonzaga Track returned to competition with three wins on Friday, capturing wins in the men's and women's mile as well as the women's 3k.

Logan Schwartz won the men's mile in a time of 4:05.53, the fifth fastest time in indoor track program history. Ryan Mitchell took second place after finishing in 4:06.48, moving into ninth on the all time indoor record book as well. Schwartz secured the win in a back and forth affair, taking first place as a result of a huge move around the outside of the lead pack of six runners before unleashing a kick down the back stretch of the final 100 meters of the race.

Anna Grabowski won the women's mile in the opposite fashion, leading from wire to wire to finish with a time of 4:56.30. Grabowski dominated from the start, running almost the entire race alone at the front and winning with a ten second lead on her closest competitor in a huge win.  

Nina Yeats captured a win in the 3,000 meters in a similar manner, leading the field from the very start. She finished with a final time of 9:59.48 after running the entire race by herself. Maria Taggi Padro took second place in the race with a career best time of 10:02.41. 

Greta Dani set another indoor track program record, running a 41.71 time in the 300 meters. Ashlinn Aguayo cut over two seconds off of her personal best in the 600 meters, running a time of 1:37.49 to move to third on the all time GU indoor record books for the distance.

Gonzaga Track and Field will be running in the Spokane Challenge, which is also taking place at the Podium. The Zags will run DMR relay teams at The Podium tonight at 7pm for the first day of the Challenge, with individual races starting at noon on Saturday.
