Women's Tennis Falls to Xavier, 4-2

The Zags play again tomorrow

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Gonzaga's women's tennis team went out on the road this weekend for their first away game of the season, playing Xavier in East Lansing, Michigan. The Gonzaga team came up short, 4-2.

In doubles, the Zag pair of Elizabeth Tindera and Diana Yanotovskaya took on Xavier's Emily Flowers and Natalie Smitek, dominating the courts for a 6-0 victory. Emily Robertson and Ella Nielson also took home another victory in doubles for Gonzaga, 6-3.

As for singles, Emily Robertson took on Xavier's Abby Nugent and won the first set 6-4. Robertson fought hard in her sets but, unfortunately, lost the last three sets, 2-6 and 3-6. Rose Hayes showed an outstanding performance in singles, taking on Emily Flowers and winning both her sets for the Zags, 7-5 and 6-2. 

The women's tennis team will be back tomorrow, Sunday, February 7th at 7 a.m., to take on Michigan State in East Lansing.
