SPOKANE, Wash.- Gonzaga freshman pitcher Landon Hood has been recognized by Perfect Game as a midseason Freshman All-American after being named to the second team this morning.

Hood, the Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Arizona, leads statistically qualified Gonzaga pitchers with a 3.72 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. He has the second lowest hits allowed per nine innings in the WCC, giving up just 6.21 hits per nine innings. Hood averages 11.79 strikeouts per nine innings, the sixty first highest rate among all Division 1 pitchers. He currently has just a .187 batting average against and has recorded 38 strikeouts across 29 innings pitched.
