SAN BRUNO, Calif.- Gonzaga freshman right handed pitcher
Landon Hood has been named the WCC Freshman of the Week.
Landon Hood secured the save at Saint Mary's in a one-run victory on Sunday, appearing in his second scoreless outing of the weekend. He also appeared on Friday in relief in a Zags win. He tossed 3.1 innings total across the two apperances, allowing only three hits. Hood struck out four batters across the series sweep of Saint Mary's. Hood still has not given up a run in the month of April. This is already the fourth time this season that Hood has won conference freshman of the week honors. He was selected as a Midseason Freshman Second Team All-American by Perfect Game earlier in the month. Hood has just a 3.15 ERA and a .183 batting average against this season.
