OVERLAND PARK, Kansas- Maddox Haley has been named an All-American after his first season at Gonzaga, with the College Baseball Foundation announcing his selection for the national honor on Wednesday.
Haley was selected as the Designated Hitter for the All-American team after a breakout junior campaign. Haley set a program record with a 29 game hit streak in the middle of the season while starting 43 games for the Zags. He was previously named the NCBWA National Player of the Week on March 30th after leading the nation with five home runs in the week.
Haley was selected to the First Team All-WCC after hitting for a .351 average across the season. He scored 39 runs and drove in 44 more runners. Haley hit 10 home runs and stole 5 bases, including a steal of home against Saint Mary's on April 19th. He finished the year with a 1.050 OPS and 24 extra base hits while serving as the primary designated hitter for the Zags.
