Gonzaga remains unbeaten in its last four games; Pac-12 play next

MOSCOW, Idaho – Gonzaga women's soccer earned a 1-1 draw at Idaho to close the non-conference schedule. The Zags will play their first-ever Pac-12 Conference match next.

Friday's result inside the Kibbie Dome kept GU (5-4-2) unbeaten in its last four matches. The game was evenly contested, with Idaho holding a slim 9-6 advantage in shots, but the Bulldogs had a 2-1 edge in shots on goal. The Vandals took four of the game's six corner kicks.

Gonzaga's Amelia Severn scored her seventh goal of the season, and 21^st in her career, in the 36^th minute. The junior held off an Idaho defender and struck a shot to the far post from outside the box over the Vandal goalkeeper. Severn is now third in the Pac-12 in goals, assists (5) and points (19) this season.

Idaho (6-2-2) found the equalizer in the 49^th minute, as Mia Boltz scored her first goal on the season on a cross through the box from Georgia Whitehead.

Gonzaga opens Pac-12 play at Boise State (8-1-1) on Oct. 4 at 12 p.m. Pacific Time. The Broncos, who are ranked ninth in the region, won their sixth straight game Friday, beating Northern Colorado in Boise, 3-0. The match on Oct. 4 will have a live broadcast on YouTube and live stats on GoZags.com.
