Gonzaga Athletics Marketing

WHAT WE DO
The Gonzaga Athletics Marketing office is responsible for the marketing and promotion of Gonzaga's 18 varsity sports. Consisting of two full-time staff members and a number of student interns, the staff is responsible for creating and implementing advertising campaigns, developing marketing plans, community relations initiatives, managing social media accounts, creating the best game experience for fans, and management of the athletics website.

GAME DAY PROMOTIONS
Members of the athletics marketing staff are responsible for implementing marketing plans, including on-court and on-field promotions, video board programming, public address announcements and music.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The Gonzaga Athletics marketing department is looking for undergraduate student interns to assist with the marketing and creative services needed for Gonzaga University's 18 varsity sports. The marketing and creative services internships can provide you with hands-on experience in the sports industry tailored to your interests. Students interested in working during the 2025-26 school year can apply in the spring of 2025. The undergraduate student internships are voluntary positions; however, students may receive course credit.

NATIONAL ANTHEM
Gonzaga has live anthem singers for a majority of our athletic events throughout the year -- men’s & women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s & women’s basketball, and baseball. Performing at men’s and women’s basketball is based on seniority and performances at other Gonzaga Athletics events. Interested singers are asked to submit a video or voice recording singing a traditional, a capella rendition of the National Anthem.

KENNEL CLUB

MASCOT OPPORTUNITIES
Gonzaga has undergraduate mascots who have appearances at all Men's & Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Men's & Women's Basketball, and Baseball home events. In addition, Spike's appearance can be requested at external events where he serves as an ambassador of Gonzaga University in the community. Spike plays an integral role in Gonzaga Athletics, supporting our teams by rallying the crowds, encouraging Bulldog pride, and aiding in on-court and in-game promotions. The mascot position is a voluntary (unpaid) position; however, mascots may receive course credit and the mascots who demonstrate the greatest commitment throughout the year have the opportunity to travel & perform during post-season tournaments.If you are interested in being our new Spike, please email the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing, Kyle Hoob, at hoob@gonzaga.edu and Marketing Graduate Assistant, Bella Fontaine, at fontaine@gonzaga.edu.
