Marketing Internship
About the Internship
Are you interested in exploring a career in sports marketing? The Gonzaga Athletics Marketing department has opportunities for you to jump start your career!  We are looking for undergraduate and graduate students to assist throughout the school year with the marketing and promotions of Gonzaga University's 16 varsity sports. Interns are responsible for the implementation of marketing plans, as well as game day operations of men's & women's basketball, volleyball, men's & women's soccer, men's & women's tennis, and baseball. This internship is a year-long commitment of time, energy, and effort in which interns work an average of 2-4 hours per week in the office, as well as 2-3 games based on sport schedules that will occur on nights or weekends.

The internship is an unpaid position, however, there are many benefits such as:

Graphic Design Intern - Gonzaga Athletics

About the Internship
The Creative Director-Graphic Design & Photography is in search of a student graphic design intern to assist with the ideation and creation of graphic design projects that include but are not limited to; social media graphics, videoboard graphics, and printed materials for individual sport teams, marketing department, ticket office,  development office, Gonzaga Sport Properties, etc. you interested in exploring a career in sports marketing? 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ability to complete graphics using Photoshop templates
  • Assist in creation of graphics for social media sport pages and general GUBulldogs athletics pages
  • Collaborate to develop content calendars to produce digital elements and enhance performance of Gonzaga Athletics social media and branding
  • Follow Gonzaga Athletics brand guidelines when creating graphics
  • Assist with organizing and managing photo library for Gonzaga Athletics
  • Assist with team photoshoots
  • Must comply with all NCAA rules and regulations
Qualifications:
  • Prior knowledge/experience with graphic design
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative suite, specifically Photoshop and/or InDesign

Student Photographer - Gonzaga Athletics

About the Internship
The Creative Director-Graphic Design & Photography is in search of student photographers to help take photos at home and local athletic events. This includes athletic games/meets/races, but also Academic and Life Skills special events. 

Outside of photographing events, responsibilities would include completely weekly office hours to edit photos, organize and maintain the athletics photography library, and help on set during photoshoots and media days.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Photograph Gonzaga Athletics events
  • Edit photos and share with Athletic Department
  • Assist with organizing and managing photo library for Gonzaga Athletics
  • Assist with team photoshoots as needed
  • Must comply with all NCAA rules and regulations

Qualifications:
  • Prior knowledge/experience with photography
  • Adobe Lightroom experience (we can provide access)

Creative Video Intern - Gonzaga Athletics

Job Description
  • Work with the SID's and individual sport programs and coaches to dynamically service the social media and recruiting needs of those constituencies
  • Create highlight packages to promote the department and individual teams
  • Collaborate with other members of the post-production unit of Athleics Video Services to repurpose content, improve efficiencies and provide the best possible coverage of Gonzaga Athletics
  • Manage and organize video archive server(s) containing all acquired digital assets including logging of footage
  • Film with a variety of cinema/digital cameras to cover selected home and away contests, practices, workouts, interviews, press conferences, and other miscellaneous events as assigned
  • Use proven understanding of video, social networking and other technology skills to support and maintain dynamic content for all departments sites, accounts, and audiences.
  • Keep current and continuously seek out new technologies, applications, and techniques that help Gonzaga Athletics maintain and advance its brand
  • Collaborate with the Director of Creative Video to grow audience and engagement of Gonzaga Athletics and its program specific accounts
  • Edit feature videos inside Premiere Pro for videoboard and external use
  • Must comply with all NCAA rules and regulations
Other Responsibilities: This is a job that requires some physical activity including lifting objects greater than 30 pounds and shooting with cameras for extended periods in addition to sedentary desk work. The job may occasionally require travel to cover road contests and events.

Basketball Creative/Social Intern - Gonzaga Athletics

Job Description
  • Assist in the social media publishing for ZagMBB and ZagWBB social media pages
  • Assist with game day social content production including Instagram stories, live tweeting, live photo/video editing
  • Assist in recruiting graphic design/videography
  • Helping develop content calendars and interacting with fan/media pages across social media
  • Must be available to work home games in person (outside of holiday breaks), and virtually for away/neutral games. Ideal if you could help virtually during home games on holiday breaks
  • Ready to assist in shooting photo/video if need arises
  • Helping us stay up-to-date in the latest trends across social media to ensure our interactions on all platforms grow
  • Be attentive to social media interactions, and ready to address strategies that will drive higher interaction
  • Other creative/social media duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Gonzaga University Student
  • Experience in adobe creative cloud is preferred (specifically Premiere Pro, Lightroom, & Photoshop)
