Biography

GRADUATE STUDENT (2024-25): Competed in all 11 of the Zags’ events this season… Had a scoring average of 74.81… Finished at or below par in six rounds… Shot a season-best 214 (+1) at the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic, where he had a 69 (-2) in round three for his best 18-hole performance of the year… Best placement was 24th out of 110 golfers at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational… Finished tied for 47th at the WCC Championships… Named to the WCC All-Academic Team.

SENIOR (2023-24): Played 27 rounds across nine events for the Zags… Maintained a 73.56 scoring average this season, with 1986 total strokes on the year… Had 11 rounds at or below par, which was the second-most on the team… Shot a career-best -4 at both the second round of the Nick Watney Invitational and the final round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational… Earned his first collegiate top-ten finish at the SeattleU Redhawk Invitational, shooting -2 across three days of action… Also shot -2 at the Nick Watney Invitational, placing 28th out of 83 total participating players… Finished the season at the WCC Championships, where he shot 69 during the second round of the event.

Nunez comes to Gonzaga from Trinity College, a Division III school in San Antonio, where he was named to the PING All-American Third and All-West Teams in 2020. In 2021, he was named to the All-SCAC Second Team. During his time at Trinity, Nunez was a two-time individual winner at the SCAC Preview, a two-time GCAA All-American Scholar and was named to the SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll twice.
