Biography
2022-23 (Senior): During the 2022-23 Season Johnson appeared in 3 tournaments. He had a stroke Average of 76.56 and finished off the season with a +5 relative to par. He placed 52nd in the Pat Hicks Invitational and helped Gonzaga place 4th overall in the tournament.
2021-22 (Junior): Johnson, a junior at Gonzaga, finished in the top-5 for his team in the Georgetown Intercollegiate. In this event, finished with a +18, his best score out of the three rounds shooting a 75 to assist his team in taking 11th. Johnson holds the No. 12 spot in career best scoring average men’s golf at Gonzaga with an average score of 75.19. He finished off this last 2021-22 season with a +6 relative to par and shooting an average 77.00 for the season.
JUNIOR (2020-21): Played in one tournament for a total of three rounds… Had a 78.33 stroke average on the year.
SOPHOMORE (2019-20): Appeared in three events … 74.75 scoring average … tied for 31st at The Joust on April 24-25, finished 16-over (226) ... tying for 65th at the Husky Invitational on Sept. 16-17, finished nine-over (153) in weather-shortened two-round event … tied for 83rd at Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic at six-over (219) … season-low round of 71 in second round ... finished season four-over relative to par.
FRESHMAN (2018-19): Appeared in six tournaments…74.56 scoring average…low round of 69 at the Nick Watney Invitational and Seattle U Redhawk Invitational…two top-30 finished on the season…tied for 34th at the West Coast Conference Championships…best tournament score in relation to par was at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational, three-over.
HIGH SCHOOL: Johnson joined the Zags after graduating from Las Lomas High School, where he has excelled on and off of the course. He earned the Outstanding Athletic Achievement Award for LLHS and graduated with California Scholarship Federation honors. Johnson played on the varsity team all four years at Las Lomas and was selected First Team All-League in his final two seasons and selected Second Team All-League following his sophomore year. He led the golf team to their first league title in 17 years and qualified individually into the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) NorCal Boys championship in his sophomore and senior years. Johnson won the 2017 AJGA Se Ri Pak Junior Championship in Chico, California with a tournament total of 216 (72-72-72). He is ranked 198th in the national Rolex AJGA Rankings. Johnson won the 2016 Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) at the Centennial Golf Club with a tournament total of 137 (71-66). He was a top ten finisher four times on the FCWT, finishing the 2016-2017 FCWT season ranked eighth nationally, and was named Second Team All-FCWT in 2016-17. Johnson was a top five finisher on the Northern California Golf Association Junior Tour twice and was ranked 25th in the state of California for the class of 2017 on Junior Golf Scoreboard.
