Biography
Gonzaga University- (2018-19) Cross Country - Kicked off the season by placing 11th at the Clash of the Inland Northwest Invitational, covering the 5.75k course in 17:32.1. A couple weeks later competed at the Cougar Cross Country Classic. Also ran at the Montana Invitational. Capped off his season by running at the Sasquatch Invite…Indoor - Did not Compete…Outdoor - Competed at the Buc Scoring Meet in the 5k. Ran the 1500m at the Sam Adams Classic. Ran a personal best in the 5k at WAR 12 (15:18.84) good enough for 6th place. Also competed at the Spokane Memorial 2019 (Mile) and the West Coast Invitational (5k).
High School- In his senior year, Thompson finished 15th at the OSAA State Cross Country Championships after previous finishes of 32nd, 12th, and 23rd. Has a 5,000 meter personal best of 16:01. On the track, Thompson would finish 14th in the Oregon State Championship 1500 meters in a time of 4:00.89. Holds a 3,000 meter personal best of 9:02.67
Personal: Both of Daniel’s parents competed in Cross Country and Track for Gonzaga. Older brother, Kyle, also runs for Gonzaga after transferring from the University of Wisconsin. Daniel boasts a 4.1 high school GPA and has been on the school’s honor roll 7 times.
