Anzaldo joined the Zags' staff in January 2016, after spending three seasons at San Diego State as an assistant coach under Mike Friesen.
In his first season at San Diego State in 2013, the Aztecs won the Mountain West regular-season and tournament titles and made their second straight NCAA appearance. SDSU won its third straight conference regular-season and tournament titles in 2014. The Aztecs won 15 games in 2015, but were upset in the conference championship game after taking the regular-season crown for the fourth consecutive year.
While at San Diego State, Anzaldo and the Aztecs won 43 games and made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Anzaldo was instrumental in SDSU collecting several individual conference, regional, and national accolades.
During his tenure at SDSU, Anzaldo also coached with the San Diego Surf Soccer Club in nearby Del Mar. At San Diego Surf and the youth level, Anzaldo has worked with players selected to national teams, and ODP regional and state teams. He most recently was a staff coach with Region IV ODP. Prior to his stint in North County, Anzaldo was an assistant coach for two seasons at East Central University in Ada, Okla., where he helped the team to the 2011 Great American Conference regular-season and tournament titles.
Anzaldo, who has his USSF "A" license, was also the head coach at the Norman (Okla.) Youth Soccer Association and an instructor at Nike Soccer Camps in Boston, Mass., following a year-long assistant coach stint at Fullerton (Calif.) College.
Anzaldo played his college soccer at Fullerton College and St. Gregory's in Shawnee, Okla. While at Fullerton, the two-year team captain was a two-time all-conference performer, 2001 defensive MVP and 2002 team MVP. Then at St. Gregory's, Anzaldo was named team captain and went on to earn 2003 and 2004 team MVP accolades and 2003-04 Cavalier Male Athlete of the Year honors.
Following his playing career, Anzaldo earned his Master's Degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from Oklahoma in 2010. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Health and Exercise Science from St. Gregory's in 2005.
