T. BROWN
Brown was welcomed on the staff in the summer of 2019. His duties will be opponent scouting and assisting with the goalkeepers.
Brown has worked alongside Watkins in creating the defense that GU has today by assisting with the Zags’ goalkeepers over the course of two seasons.
In Brown’s first year at GU, the Zags posted six shutouts. The goalkeepers also recorded six more saves than the previous year. He assisted Watkins in finishing the season with a 12-6-1 overall record, which was a program-record tie for the most victories in a single season. Brown was also a part of the staff that helped lead GU to collecting votes in the national polls for the first time since 2005. The Bulldogs recorded a program-best No. 3 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches’ West Region Poll.
Brown’s second year at Gonzaga didn’t fail to impress. The Zags earned another six shutouts and improved their GAA to .89. Brown also helped the goalkeepers increase their SV % to .811. Posting those defensive stats allowed the Bulldogs to finish third in the WCC with a record of 5-2-1. This was the first time since 2005 that the Zags have finished top-three in the WCC, and the second time in program history.
Brown was also part of the staff that was named West Region Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches College Services program in 2020-21.
