BOISE, Idaho - Gonzaga University's women's volleyball team dropped a 15-3, 5-15, 15-11, 15-8 decision to host Boise State University in the first round of the Broncos' Thanksgiving Classic on Friday.

The Bulldogs (5-25) will conclude the season Saturday at 3 p.m. PST against the University of Idaho. The Vandals (15-13) were a 15-12, 15-6, 13-15, 15-8 loser to Eastern Washington University in Friday's other opening-day match. Idaho captured a 15-9, 11-15, 15-13, 15-2 victory at Gonzaga in a September meeting.

Heather Osberg had a match-high 19 kills Friday, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Bulldogs from dropping their 20th match in the last 21 outings. Osberg also had 11 digs.

BSU was paced by the 15 kills of Jacqueline Heler. Tara Brinkerhoff had 13 kills, while Angela Barbera and Temeisha Hastings added 11 each in the balanced Broncos' attack. Brinkerhoff also contributed 15 digs to lead the defensive effort.
