MOSCOW, Idaho - Freshman forward Rachael Manning scored the game-winning goal for the Gonzaga University Bulldogs (6-11-0,0-5-0) Thursday afternoon as they shutout the University of Idaho Vandals (2-12-3) 1-0 in non-conference play.

Manning's first collegiate career goal in the 85th minute snapped a seven-match losing streak for the Bulldogs. Heidi Jacobson notched her first assist of the season as she set up the lone goal.

The Vandals out-shot the Bulldogs 18-13 as GU goalkeeper Ashley Haugen recorded eight saves and her sixth shutout of the year. Emily Nelson led Idaho with nine shots as the twin-set of Sarah and Annie Hawkins each fired three shots for Gonzaga.

The Bulldogs close their home schedule against West Coast Conference opponent, the University of Santa Diego Toreros Sunday at 12 p.m. at Martin Field.

Gonzaga finishes the 2002 season on the road against the No. 7-ranked Santa Clara University Broncos Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
