SPOKANE, Wash. - The Eastern Washington University Eagles (2-7-0) used two late-half goals to edge the Gonzaga University Bulldogs (5-5-0) 2-1 in non-conference play Friday afternoon at Martin Field.

The Eagles struck late in the second half when Tara Edelbrock took a right cross from Sarah Windham to fire a short shot past Bulldog goalkeeper Ashley Haugen at 72:05.

The Bulldogs tied the match 10 minutes later as Katie O'Brien scored her second goal of the season off a header at 82:53.

The Bulldogs out-shot the Eagles 13-10 but failed to take advantage of several opportunities. Annie Hawkins and Heidi Jacobson led the Zags with three shots each. Haugen collected three saves in goal for the Bulldogs.

Jellison's and Edelbrock's goals were their second of the season as Eagle goalkeeper Jonna Melton recorded her first win in the net this year.

Eastern's Kathleen Bigelow and Gonzaga's Walker Loseno were each issued a yellow card in the 42nd minute.

The Bulldogs return to the road Sunday as they travel to the University of Montana for a 1 p.m. PST match.
