BOISE, Idaho - Gonzaga University, paced by Stu Bell's final-round 69, moved up a notch to finish third at the Boise State Bronco Round-Up men's golf tournament Tuesday.
The Bulldogs shot a 281 for a 54-hole total of 845, one stroke behind the host Broncos for second and six strokes behind tournament champion Washington State University at 839.
Jimmy Hayes was the top Bulldog, shooting a final-round 72 over the 6,591-yard, par 71 Boise Ranch Golf Club layout for a 54-hole total of 208. First-day leader Ben Bryson of Washington State University shot a 72 Tuesday for a 204 and a 1-stroke victory over Cody Powers of Utah Valley State College.
Bell's 69 gave him a 54-hole total of 216 to tie for 24th. Matt Munroe and Trevor Loe each shot 70 on Tuesday, Munroe finishing tied for 13th at 212 and Loe tied for 18th at 213.
The Bulldogs will be idle until Oct. 25-26 when they compete at the Santa Clara Invitational.
