SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Senior Angela Fry received honorable mention All-West Coast Conference honors, becoming only the third women's tennis player, fourth tennis player overall, to do so in Gonzaga University program history. Sarah Ust was the first woman to be named All-WCC in 2001, joined by men's tennis player, Eduardo Kohlberg, in the same year and Jamie Buterbaugh was named honorable mention ALL-WCC in 2004.
Fry posted a 6-9 dual match record this season while playing in the No. 1 spot for the Bulldogs and combined with senior Sirrah Williams for an 8-13 finish as Gonzaga's No. 1 doubles pair.
San Diego's Emma Murphy was named WCC Player of the Year for women's tennis, while Pepperdine's Bianca Dulgheru was tabbed the Freshman of the Year and Saint Mary's head coach Lisa Alipaz was honored as Coach of the Year.
On the men's side, Pepperdine's men's team swept the yearly conference honors as Scott Doerner Selected as WCC Men's Player of the Year, Jonas Berg was selected as the league's Freshman of the Year, and the Waves' Head Coach Adam Steinberg was named Coach of the Year.
