POCATELLO, Idaho -The Gonzaga University women's soccer team is off to its best start in program history as sophomore's Cristin Leverson and Christine Soma each tally a goal in the 2-0 shutout win over Idaho State University Sunday afternoon at Davis Field.

With the win the Bulldogs move to 2-0-0, while the Bengals drop to 0-2-0 on the season.

For the second game in a row, the Bulldogs wasted no time in scoring as at the 7:05 mark Soma was able to thread a pass through a stingy Bengal defense to Leverson who then launched a rocket shot past Idaho State's starting goalkeeper Maren Eves to record her second goal on the season giving the Zags a 1-0 early advantage.

The Bulldogs would add a cushion to their lead just six minutes later. At the 13:49 mark Soma was able to slip behind the defense, corralled a pass from sophomore striker Heather Horn and hit a one-timer past Eves giving the Zags to a two goal cushion.

Senior netminder Ashley Haugen recorded one save in picking up her 13th career shutout for the Bulldogs, while ISU's Eves allowed two goals and recorded two saves in taking the loss for the Bengals.

The Bulldogs out shot ISU 11-4 and had a decisive 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Gonzaga will continue its five match road swing and look to remain undefeated on Friday as they travel to Eugene, Ore. to compete against the University of Oregon in a 7 p.m. match.
