SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University senior forward Ashley Anderson has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week following her effort in Gonzaga's home wins over Loyola Marymount University and Pepperdine University. Anderson nearly averaged a double-double for the week with 16 points and 9.5 rebounds. In Thursday's win over LMU, Anderson had 9 rebounds and 18 points in the 53-43 win. On Saturday she picked up her sixth double-double of the WCC season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She also had two assists and two blocks for the weekend while shooting 48 percent from the floor.
This is Anderson's fourth WCC Player of the Week honor and third one during the WCC season. The native of Enterprise, Ore., is averaging 15.4 points and 9.4 rebounds during WCC play with overall numbers of 10.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Anderson has helped the Bulldogs climb to 9-3 in the WCC, one game behind first-place Santa Clara University.
Gonzaga travels to the University of San Diego and University of San Francisco this weekend to round out the WCC regular-season.
