Sheffield, Morgan Finish Strong At OSU

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Gonzaga University's women's' golf team's woes continued Tuesday as the Bulldogs shot a final-round 319 to slip to last in the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational hosted by Oregon State University.

The Bulldogs did have a couple of golfers finish strong following Monday's 36 holes that saw the Bulldogs shoot just three sub-80 rounds.

Sarah Sheffield shot a 77 Tuesday to finish tied for 43 at 232 and Mary Kate Morgan re-grouped from a second-round 86 to shoot even-par 72 over the 6,271-yard Trysting Tree Golf Course and finish tied for 49th at 234.

Denver University won the team title with an 878, good for a 16-strokve victory over UC Davis. Stephanie Sherlock of DU claimed medalist honors with a 214 after rounds of 71-71-72, defeating Selanee' Henderson of UC Davis by two strokes.

The Bulldogs will host the Inland Empire Women's Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday at Hangman Valley Golf Course.
