ABOUT THE IDAHO STATE BENGALS: Idaho State University enters the week with a 2-7-2 overall record. Gonzaga University leads the all time series against the Bengals 4-1-1 with the draw coming in last year's meeting in Spokane. Lauren Ryan enters the week leading the team in goals scored (3) and in points (6). Third year head coach Allison Gibson owns a 19-21-9 career record for ISU.
ABOUT THE WEBER STATE WILDCATS: Weber State University enters the week with an overall record of 3-6-1 and will Gonzaga University in its lone match of the week. The Wildcats and Zags have only matched up one time before with WSU posting a 3-1 victory in 1997. Whitney Smith enters the week tied for the team-lead in goals scored (3) and in points (8). Head coach Tim Crompton is in his fifth season at the helm of the Wildcat program and owns an 41-36-11 career record at the school.
JONES MAKING THEM COUNT: All three goals scored by Gonzaga University sophomore Sheridan Jones this season have been match-winners and have set a new career high, surpassing her two scores last season. Her first goal of the season came in the Zags 3-1 win at the University of Idaho Aug. 29, her second was the lone score of the match in GU's 1-0 win over California State Bakersfield Sept. 7, and her latest netter gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 double overtime win over Eastern Washington University this past Sunday. The Hillsboro, Ore. native enters the week leading the team in goals, points (7), shots (35) and shots-on-goal (14). Her three game-winners are tied for the most in the West Coast Conference.
TOUGH STREAK TOOK ITS TOLL: Gonzaga University's 2-1 overtime win over Eastern Washington University this past Sunday put an end to a tough four-game losing skid for the Zags. During that stretch, the Bulldogs went 433:25 minutes without scoring a goal. That scoreless streak ended at the 56:08 mark of this past Sunday's match as freshman Sarah Rhodes took a pass from redshirt sophomore Jessie Sorenson and found the back of the net for her second goal of the season.
ANOTHER FIRST FOR THE ZAGS: Three players have recorded their first career goals for Gonzaga University this season. Freshman Sarah Rhodes recorded her first career netter after she took a pass from junior Christi D'Agostino and found the left corner of the net for what proved to be the match-winner for GU in the 1-0 win over the University of Montana Sept. 12. D'Agostino and redshirt freshman Katie Spangenberg also have recorded their first career goals for the Zags this season. D'Agostino's goal proved to be match-winner in the Zags' 1-0 win over Portland State University on Aug. 24 and Spangenberg picked up her first career netter against the University of Washington Aug. 31.
