SPOKANE, Wash. - Freshman Jake Davis posted his team-leading sixth victory for the Gonzaga University men's tennis team in the Bulldog's 5-2 defeat to the University of Idaho at the Spokane Racquet Club in Spokane, Wash. Friday night.
The Bulldogs (5-3, 0-1 WCC) had senior Stefan Feddersen win at number singles and Davis win his number five singles match to pick up the Zags' two points in the match. Idaho took the three doubles matches and then won four of the six singles matches to pick up the victory.
Gonzaga came out on the short end of a couple matches that were a couple points away from swinging in favor of the Zags but the Vandals held off a couple Bulldog rallies. Junior Roman Dojcak's number two singles match required a third set as did Davis' match and sophomore Conor Feeney dropped a tough 6-1, 7-6 decision in his number three singles match.
The Zags will host Eastern Washington University next Wednesday at 6 pm before playing their next 12 matches on the road.
