RENO, Nev. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team dropped its road opener to the University of Nevada 6-1 in Reno, Nev. Friday evening. Freshman Jake Davis posted a win at number five singles for the Bulldogs.
Gonzaga (5-11) battled tough in the three doubles matches, as junior Roman Dojcak and sophomore Scott Sullivan paired up to take their number three doubles match 8-5 but the Wolfpack won the next two matches to take the point.
Nevada then went on to take five of the six singles matches. Davis rallied back after dropping the first set 6-4 with 6-4, 10-7 wins in the final two sets to pick up the win. Dojcak also worked his number three singles match to three sets.
The Bulldogs continue play in Reno, Nev. against the University of Montana Saturday.
