SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Gonzaga University recorded its 10th win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Santa Clara University in the season-finale at the West Coast Conference Championships Sunday.
The Bulldogs (10-16) had its No. 1 and No.2 doubles teams each post wins to give the Zags the early 1-0 lead. Gonzaga then used solid performances by each one of its players to win four of the five completed singles matches.
Senior Stefan Feddersen closed out his career with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Jay Wong at No. 1 singles to finish with 18 career victories. Scott Sullivan and Zach Peach each won their No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches, respectively to clinch the match for the Bulldogs.
Sullivan won five of last singles matches to finish with 12 wins on the season. Jake Davis led the Zags with 13 wins in his first collegiate season. The doubles pairing of Dojcak and Sullivan led the Bulldogs with 12 victories throughout the season.
