LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Sophomore Levin Guillermo posted his fourth-straight singles win but the Gonzaga University men's tennis team lost a 6-1 decision to the College of Charleston at Loyola Marymount University Monday.
Three of the six singles matches were decided in three sets. After losing the first set 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Guillermo rallied back to win the next two sets 6-3, 10-6. Senior Kevin Eischen and freshman Muzeen Ismath both had close battles at the Nos. 2 and 5 spots, respectively. The two Bulldogs (3-8) each won the second set 6-3 to force a tiebreaker but couldn't secure the win.
The Cougars (4-3) took all three doubles matches to claim the early point.
The Bulldogs are back on the court Tuesday against Occidental College at 10 a.m.
