SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University's Levin Guillermo earned his All-West Coast Conference accolade as the sophomore was received honorable mention in singles as voted by the conference coaches Thursday.
The Walnut, Calif., native moved to the No. 1 position fulltime and for the second consecutive season he posted a 10-win season. He started the spring 3-4 but would go on to win the next five matches including an upset over the University of Idaho's then-105th-ranked Marius Cirstea. Also during the streak, he posted singles victories against Eastern Washington University, Montana State University, College of Charleston and Occidental College.
"It's great for Levin to achieve this recognition," Bulldogs head coach Peter MacDonald said. "He really had to step up and play at that one position this year. He had some really good wins so that's great for him to get honorable mention."
