MORAGA, Calif. - Junior Vladimir Mijatovic captured back-to-back victories at the USTA ITA Northwest Regionals Friday to advance to the round of 32 at the Korth Tennis Complex on the campus of Saint Mary's College.

Mijatovic was one of six Bulldogs in main draw. An opening round put him in a round of 64 contest against Adam Luba (UC Davis). Mijatovic would take the match 6-3, 6-3. He will face second seed Campbell Johnson (Cal) Saturday afternoon.

The remaining five Zags would each fall in the opening round.

Jack Schoebel went the distance with Adam Levie (UC Davis) but came up short 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (1). Joey Brandt fell 6-1, 6-2 to Mads Engsted (Cal). Nick Kamisar was also ousted by a Cal opponent, 6-4, 6-2 to Nikhil Jayashankar.

Sophomore Hayden Smith dropped to Ilya Osintsev (Santa Clara University) 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 and Vicente Varas was downed by James Wade (UC Davis) 6-2, 6-0.

None of the Zags doubles teams took the court Friday. All doubles contest will begin Saturday with two rounds of action scheduled.
