Women's Basketball has a New Radio Home

Nov. 5, 2015

SPOKANE, Wash. - There's a new radio home for Gonzaga women's basketball in 2015-16. The Zags are moving to Fox Sports AM 790 KJRB on the Toyota Gonzaga IMG Radio Network.

The change will allow for a broader listening area for the Bulldogs. This is the seventh-straight season that both home and away GU women's games will be broadcast on the radio.

"We're excited to expand the coverage of the Gonzaga women's basketball program," Radio Spokane Market Manager Jerry Jensen said. "We believe this corresponds with the success that the team is having and the great season they are coming off of. The move to 790 AM doubles the coverage in the evenings. And, having the team on KJRB, a sports station, just makes sense."

Steve Myklebust, the veteran voice of Gonzaga women's basketball, will once again be courtside to call the action for a 12th straight season. There will be a 30-minute pre-game and post-game show accompanying each broadcast.

Fox Sports 790 KJRB will also be the home for The Lisa Fortier Show. The show returns for the second straight year. It is broadcast live at Thai Bamboo on North Division in Spokane. The show has four dates in 2015, Nov. 4 and 11, and Dec. 9 and 16. It will then run every Monday beginning Jan. 4 to Feb. 22. The hour-long show begins at 6 p.m.

Gonzaga begins the season in an exhibition against Carroll College (Mont.) Friday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
