July 20, 2015 SPOKANE, Wash. -- Lindsay Sherbert recently signed with the Bad Aibling Fireballs of the German Women's Basketball Second Division.
Sherbert joins the team, located near Munich, at the end of August. She graduated with her master's degree in Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga, after finishing her undergraduate degree in Applied Communications.
After transferring from the University of California in 2012, Sherbert appeared in 55 games for GU over the past two seasons. As a Zag, she was named to the West Coast Conference's All-Academic and All-Tournament teams.
Sherbert scored over 900 points in her collegiate career, averaging nearly eight points per game. She scored 18 points against Dayton in a key season-opening win for Gonzaga in 2014-15. During her collegiate career, Sherbert made 160 three-pointers at 35 percent shooting from behind-the-arc.
"I've always dreamed of playing in Europe after my college career," Sherbert said. "I feel extremely honored and am already excited to play for the Fireballs basketball program in the Bundesliga. I hope I can help the team return to the first league. I will work hard and do everything I can on and off the court.
"I have been to Germany once, but unfortunately I do not remember much about it. I am excited to be in the beautiful town of Bad Aibling. I would like to settle in the culture, get to know a lot of people and also learn a little German."
