SPOKANE, Wash. -- Kyle Wiltjer had 32 points, Domantas Sabonis added 28 points and 17 rebounds and Gonzaga beat Portland 85-74 on Saturday night.

With Saint Mary's 67-64 loss on Saturday to Pepperdine, Gonzaga moved alone into first place in the West Coast Conference.

"It was a good win. Anytime we can dig out a win and lead, especially with this group, we are going to celebrate," head coach Mark Few said. "That is an excellent offensive team we faced tonight. We did a great job guarding the three , which is definitely a strength of theirs. We made them take tough two's. Job well done by our guys."

Wiltjer was 6 of 9 from 3-point range and Sabonis added four assists, three steals and three blocks for the Bulldogs (13-3, 5-0). Josh Perkins had 10 points and seven assists to go along with just one turnover.

Gonzaga closed the first half with a 13-2 run to lead 37-25 at the break. Portland (8-10, 2-3) closed within 50-41 before the Bulldogs pulled away for good with a 9-0 run. GU led by as many as 20 points in the second half.

Sabonis has averaged 20.9 points and 12.1 rebounds and recorded double-doubles in seven of the 11 games since becoming a starter. He replaced Przemek Karnowski on Dec. 2 when the 7-foot-1 center missed his first game due to a back injury that will keep him out the remainder of the season.

Alec Wintering had 27 points and six assists for the Pilots. Bryce Pressley added 15 points and Gabe Taylor scored 11.

Gonzaga will be back on the floor inside the McCarthey Athletic Center on Thursday against BYU at 6 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Gonzaga will be looking to avenge last season's home loss to the Cougars which snapped the Zags' nation-leading 41-game home win streak.
