Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Round 1 Results

BOULDER CITY, Nevada-The Gonzaga University women's golf team teed off at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Sunday, and all five players are close together in the standings after the first of three rounds at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

Senior Ciera Min is the top Bulldog after round one as she shot 71 (-1) for her seventh round under par of the season. She posted a pair of birdies during both her first and second nines, including one on her final hole of the day, the par-4 seventh. She is tied for 26th place with nine other players.

Both Bianca Pagdanganan and Jessica Mangrobang are tied for 48th two strokes back of Min. They each shot 73 (+1) Sunday, Pagdanganan countering an early triple-bogey with two birdies and Mangrobang pairing a birdie with two bogeys during her final nine holes.

Gonzaga's two remaining players, Jena Gao and Nina Novilla, are each two strokes behind their teammates after counting 75 (+3) to open play at the fall's final tournament. Gao birdied three straight holes near the end of the round for the tally, and Novilla played her last nine at 1-over. They're both tied for 71st.

As a team, the Zags counted 292 strokes (+4), the third-lowest round of the season. They're tied for 13th with Fresno State. Baylor leads the team competition with a score of 273 (-15), while the Bears' Maria Vesga and UC Riverside's Hannah Facchini both shot 66 (-6) to head the individual leaderboard.

The Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown is taking place over two nine-hole courses at Boulder Creek, forming a par-72 course that measures 6,301 yards. Fifteen of the 19 teams competing are currently ranked in GolfStat's Top 100.

Gonzaga resumes play at the tournament on Monday, Oct. 24. The second round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
