ZAGS RETURN TO OREGON FOR QUALIFIERS:
- Gonzaga closes the regular season this week with the last two meets of the year, the West Coast Invitational and the Portland Twilight. The West Coast Invitational will be run at Willamette University's McCulloch Stadium in Salem, Ore.
ABOUT THE MEET:
- The annual West Coast Invitational has provided many late season highlights for some of the region's best.
- Athletes from Gonzaga will compete against Willamette, BYU, Loyola Marymount, Oregon State, Portland, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Lewis & Clark, Linfield, Pacific, and Puget Sound.
MILLS IN A GOOD SPOT:
- With one week left to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminaries, Shelby Mills has the ninth-fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time in the region. - Her 10:06.49 finish at the Stanford Invitational sits in a comfortable position to qualify for NCAA West Prelims in Lawrence, Kan., on May 26-28.
LAST TIME AT THE MEET:
- The Zags last competed in the West Coast Invitational in 2014. - At that meet, Willie Milam, Joe LaMontagne and Shelby Mills set school records in the 1,500 meters, 800 meters and 3,000-meter steeplechase.
