Gonzaga vs. Idaho Dual
SATURDAY, SEPT. 17, 2016 | 10 AM PT | SPOKANE | MEAD HIGH SCHOOL
ABOUT THE MEET:
- This will be the first dual hosted by Gonzaga against Idaho.
- The races will be run at Mead High School with the women's race at 10 a.m., followed by the men at 10:45.
- This will be the third dual meet under
Pat Tyson, and the second for the GU women under
Patty Ley.
- It's the lone dual meet of the season for the Gonzaga programs.
COURSE INFORMATION:
- The races will be run all around the Mead High School athletic facilities.
- The course has hosted several high school meets.
- The course is primarily flat and should produce fast times. Some of the race will be run on the Mead track.
THE ZAGS IN DUAL MEETS:
- This will be the third dual meet for the GU men under
Pat Tyson, and the second for the women under
Patty Ley.
- The Bulldog men beat Oregon in 2011, and lost to Navy in 2014.
- The GU women lost to Oregon last fall in Eugene.
- Prior to Coach Ley, Coach Tyson lost a dual to the Oregon women in Sunriver, Ore., in 2011.
GONZAGA PLACES TRIO ON WCC PRESEASON TEAM:

Troy Fraley represented the Bulldogs on the men's team. Fraley will redshirt this season.
- Last season, Fraley was named All-WCC First Team after a ninth place finish at the West Coast Conference Championships in Spokane.
- Mildes and Thurston were both key in helping the Zags win the WCC title last season.
- Mildes is coming off of an All-Region season and a third place finish at the WCC Championships. Thurston was also First Team All-WCC last year with a seventh-place finish at the WCC championships.
