Men’s Tennis Returns Home to host Gonzaga Invitational

Marks the final tournament of the fall for the Bulldogs

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team returns home this weekend to host the Gonzaga Invitational, Oct. 26-28 at The Stevens Center. The tournament marks the final competition for the Bulldogs this fall.

"We are really excited to finally be able to play a tournament at home," head men's tennis coach Jonas Piibor said. "We have some good teams coming…I think it's going to be a great weekend of tennis."

Gonzaga welcomes seven programs from four conferences: Boise State (Mountain West), Eastern Washington (Big Sky), Montana (Big Sky) Montana State (Big Sky), Portland (WCC), Portland State (Big Sky) and Utah (Pac-12).

"It's nice to play at home," Piibor said. "You can sleep in your own bed, and everything like that, so that's going to really help. Plus, it's our last real competition before we head into the break with duals season around the corner. So we as coaches are really looking forward to seeing where we are at now and evaluate after the weekend on what we need to work on."

The tournament features three doubles draws and three singles draws, and the competition will begin with doubles play Friday morning at 9 a.m.

"For us, we are really working on specific things for our guys and their games," Piibor said. "We really want to make sure they are sticking to their game plans and that we are giving them the tools it takes to be successful."

Live streaming will be available each day of the tournament here; updated draws will be distributed each evening following the completion of play.
