THE TIP-OFF:
- Gonzaga faces Duke in the championships of the 2018 Maui Jim Maui Invitational on Wednesday, at 2 p.m. Pacific, in Lahaina, Hawaii.
- Duke owns a 3-0 lead in the all-time series, winning the most recent meeting, 66-52, in the South Regional Final of the 2015 NCAA Tournament in Houston, Texas. The Blue Devils would later win the 2015 national championship.
- The Zags are 12-10 against Atlantic Coast Conference competition, including 11-10 under Mark Few.
- GU lost its last meeting against an ACC foe, falling to Florida State in last season's Sweet 16.
- The Zags knocked off Arizona in the Maui Invitational semifinals. Rui Hachimura led GU with 24 points. Zach Norvell Jr. scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out six assists.
 
SERIES NOTES:
- Duke owns a 3-0 record in the all-time series. All three previous meetings have come on a neutral court.
- The Blue Devils won the most recent meeting, 66-52, in the South Regional Final of the 2015 NCAA Tournament in Houston, Texas. Duke would later win the 2015 national championship.
- Duke won the first-ever matchup with GU, 61-54, in New York City on Dec. 21, 2006.
- The Zags are 12-10 against Atlantic Coast Conference competition, including 11-10 under Mark Few. 
- GU lost its last meeting against an ACC foe, falling to Florida State in last season's Sweet 16.
 
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS:
- Top-ranked Duke defeated No. 8 Auburn in Tuesday's semifinals, 78-72.
- Cam Reddish and RJ Barrett both scored 18 points to lead five Blue Devils that scored in double-figures. Three Duke players pulled down nine boards, including Marques Bolden who also blocked seven shots.
- Duke improved to 17-0 all-time at the Lahaina Civic Center and its five Maui titles (1992, 1992, 2001, 2007, 2011) are the most in the tournament's history.
- Barrett (22.8) and Zion Williamson (20.4) lead the Blue Devils in scoring, while Reddish is adding 16.8 points per game. Williamson averages a team-best 9.4 rebounds per game.
- Tre Jones has opened his Duke career with 30 assists against six turnovers in his first five games.
 
A ZAG WIN WOULD ...
- Be the first-ever over a team ranked first in the AP poll in program history.
- Claim the program's second Maui Invitational title.
- Extend Gonzaga's win streak to six games.
- Be the third straight over a ranked opponent.
- Improve the Bulldogs' record to 12-10 against ACC opponents under Mark Few.
- Make Gonzaga 95-16 in November games under Mark Few.
- Improve Josh Perkins' record to 106-15 in games he has played in for Gonzaga.
 
ZAGS VS. NUMBER ONE:
- Gonzaga has lost its two previous meetings against a top-ranked team in the AP Poll.
- The Zags fell at No. 1 Memphis, 81-73, on Jan. 26, 2008, and to No. 1 Cincinnati, 75-68, in Cleveland, Ohio, on Dec. 4, 1999.
- GU's last win over a Top-5 ranked team in the AP Poll, was over No. 2 North Carolina, 82-74, in the 2006 NIT Tip-Off Classic in New York City.
