Zags add elite goalkeeper for next season

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's soccer head coach Chris Watkins announced the addition of Lyza Bosselmann.

Lyza Bosselmann
GK | Flagstaff, Ariz. | Flagstaff High School | Utah Royals DA

Bosselmann is a 5-10 goalkeeper from Flagstaff, Ariz. She was named the 4A All Region Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 and ECNL All Conference Southwestern Team for the 2017-2018 season. As a senior, she was the team captain for the Eagles.

A National Honor Society student, Bosselmann intends to major in human physiology with the goal of becoming a physical therapist.

"I chose Gonzaga for many reasons," Bosselmann said. "One, because I love the community Gonzaga has, and it makes me feel at home. Both the academics and the soccer program are outstanding. I love the coaching staff and absolutely can't wait to be at Gonzaga."

Watkins on Bosselmann: "Lyza is a great athlete with the experience and ability to make game changing saves"
