Of GU's eight wins over the Waves, five have come in the last six seasons. GU won three matches from 1992 to 1996, all at home, while four of the last five wins have come at home. Gonzaga's lone victory in Malibu came during the 2016 season.

This series dates back to 1987 when the two programs first met in WCC play. LMU claimed wins in the first three meetings, but GU responded with five straight wins and seven wins in the next nine matches to lead 7-5 through the first 12 matches. Over the last seven matches, Gonzaga has won four.
 
SCOUTING THE WAVES:
- Pepperdine carries an 11-10 overall mark in conference play with a 7-3 record in WCC play.
- As a squad, the Waves average 13.4 kills per set hitting .239 to go along with 12.3 assists, 1.6 aces, 13.9 digs and 2.1 blocks per set.
- In conference play, Peppedine's three losses are to San Diego, Saint Mary's and BYU.
- Shannon Scully leads the attack with 3.14 kills per set hitting .233. Both Rachel Ahrens and Tarah Wylie also average over 2.0 kills per set at 2.77 and 2.43, respectively.
- Isabel Zelaya leads the Waves in assists with 9.62 per set.
- Defensively, Pepperdine is led by Hana Lishman with 3.49 digs per set; Scully also averages over three digs with 3.08 per set.
- Wylie leads the Waves at the net with 1.06 blocks per set; Alli O'Harra adds 0.8 blocks per set.
- In the last meeting, Pepperdine swept GU 3-0 on the road on Oct. 5. The Bulldogs finished the match with 19 kills off 19 assists; Payton Mack led the Zags with eight kills off 18 swings with two errors to hit a team-high .333.
 
ROSTER REPORT ON LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
- The Lions are 12-9 overall this season with a 6-3 mark in conference play. LMU's three losses have come to Pepperdine and twice to BYU.
- As a squad, the Lions average 13.5 kills per set hitting .236 to go along with 12.5 assists per set and 1.5 aces per set.
- Defensively, Loyola Marymount averages 13.1 digs per set and 1.9 blocks per set.
- Three players average at least 3.0 kills per set, led by Megan Rice with 3.82. Rose Booth and Savannah Slattery also average over 3.0 kills per set at 3.41 and 3.35, respectively.
- Mary Shroll leads the Lions in digs at 4.16 per set (but has seen action in 31 of 81 sets this season). Bo Culo is second on the squad in digs per set with 2.81.
- Megan Rice leads the defensive charge at the net, averaging a team-best 0.95 blocks per set.
- In the last meeting, the Zags fell in three sets at LMU on Oct. 3. Chapin Gray led the Bulldogs with eight kills hitting .172; Kennedy Croft added a team-high eight digs on the evening.
