SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's basketball team is ranked in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll for the third time in program history. The rankings, which were released earlier this month on ESPN, have Gonzaga ranked 23rd in the coaches' poll and receiving votes in the Associated Press Top 25.
Gonzaga received 92 points in the coaches' poll and rank ahead of Iowa State (T-24) out of the Big 12 and Michigan (T-24) out of the Big Ten; both of the final programs received 81 points in the poll.
Oregon claimed the top spot with 24 first-place votes and 778 points. Baylor ranked second with eight first-place votes and 773 total points.
The Zags are also receiving votes in the AP Poll; currently they are the third team receiving votes with 32 total votes, just behind West Virginia (71) and Iowa State (44).
Gonzaga opens the 2019-20 season Sunday, Nov. 10 against CSU Bakersfield at 2 p.m. inside the McCarthey Athletic Center.
