THE TIP OFF:
- Gonzaga and Portland meet for the 169th time on Thursday in Portland, at 7 p.m. The Zags have a 102-66 advantage in the series.
- GU has won 11 straight versus the Pilots and is 35-22 at Portland in the series. Gonzaga has won 22 of the last 23 inside the Chiles Center. The Pilots last win in the series came in 2014, 82-73, at Portland.
- Gonzaga is 38-2 against Portland under Mark Few.
- The Bulldogs are coming off of a 93-72 win over Detroit Mercy on Monday. GU closed its non-conference slate shooting 73 percent from the field in the first half of the victory. Filip Petrusev scored a team-high 22 points and Ryan Woolridge had a season-high 21 points.
- GU returned to the top of both major Top-25 polls for the fifth time in program history. The Zags have climbed to nation's top spot in four of the last eight seasons.
- According to KenPom.com, Gonzaga has the best adjusted offensive efficiency in the country.
- The Zags are the lone team in the nation to have six players averaging double-digit scoring per game, with a seventh player at 9.9 points per outing.

- Gonzaga is first in the nation in scoring offense (88.5), second in total assists (268) and scoring margin (20.2), third in total rebounds (622) and fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.61), and sixth in field goal percentage (50.3).

- This is the 169th all-time meeting between Gonzaga and Portland. The Zags have a 102-66 advantage in the series.

- Gonzaga won the latest meeting between the teams, 89-66, last season in Portland. Seven Zags finished in double-digit scoring, including Corey Kispert (11) and Killian Tillie (10).
- The Pilots last win in the series came on Jan. 9, 2014, 82-73, at Portland.
- Portland edged GU, 70-66, in the first-ever NCAA meeting on Jan. 18, 1959, inside the Spokane Coliseum.
 
SCOUTING THE PILOTS:
- Portland dropped its fourth straight game, falling to Ball State in the seventh-place game of the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu, 61-46. Tahirou Diabate led the Pilots with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
- Isaiah White is averaging a team-high 13.3 points per game, while Jojo Walker is chipping in 10.2 points per outing.
- Chase Adams has thrown a team-high 62 assists, and Diabate and Jacob Tryon both average 4.8 rebounds.
- The Pilots opened the season 6-1, and were 8-2 after 10 games.
 
A ZAG WIN WOULD ...
- Make Gonzaga 144-17 in January games under Mark Few.

- Extend GU's true road win streak to 12, currently the longest active streak in the country.

DOMINANT DECADE:
- Gonzaga was 308-54 since Jan. 1, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2019.
- The Zags have had more victories than anyone else, and the 85-percent winning percentage is the best over a decade since the end of the John Wooden UCLA dynasty in the 1970s.
- Gonzaga's 149 conference wins and 89.8 win percentage in conference play (149-17), top the nation since Jan. 1, 2010.
- Since the 2010-11 season, GU leads the country in true road win percentage at 81.8 (81-18).
- Also since 2010-11, the Zags' 52.6 percent shooting from the field ranks only behind Dayton's 53.4 percent.
- Gonzaga's 27,197 points scored since the start of the 2010-11 ranks third in the country.
- Over the past 10 seasons, the Zags won nine conference regular season titles and seven WCC tournament titles.

WOOLRIDGE NAMED WCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
- Gonzaga's Ryan Woolridge was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week Tuesday.
- Woolridge helped No. 1 Gonzaga wrap-up its non-conference schedule with a win over Detroit Mercy. He scored a season-high 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including 4-of-5 from three-point range.
- It was the senior's 12th career 20-point game, but first with the Zags. He became the sixth Bulldog to score 20 points in a game this season through 15 games. Woolridge added eight assists, six rebounds and two steals.
- Woolridge tops the conference in three-point field goal percentage, making 54.5 percent from behind-the-arc. He is fourth in the league dishing out 4.7 assists per game. His assist-to-turnover ratio is sixth at 2.1.
 
HOT START:
- In the first half versus Detroit Mercy, GU made 73.1 percent of its shots from the field (19-of-26).
- The Zags scored 64 points in their first half win over Eastern Washington.
- The 64 points were the most points scored by Gonzaga dating back to the 2001-02 season.
 
LIFE ON THE ROAD
- Since the 2005-06 season, Gonzaga is 210-65 in road or neutral games. The Zags' 76.3-win percentage in road or neutral games tops the nation over that span.
- Also since the 2007-08 season, the Zags are 101-25 in true road games. GU's 80.2-win pct. in true road games is best in the nation over that span.
- The Bulldogs have won 32 straight WCC games on the road, the longest active streak in the country. GU's last loss to a conference opponent on the road was at Saint Mary's, 70-67, on Jan. 21, 2016.
- The Zags have won 45 of their last 46 road games in conference play. Since 2014-15, GU is 43-1 in WCC road games.
