Team Notes:
- Gonzaga is heading back into the stretch run of WCC play with a 1-0 record after defeating Santa Clara two weeks ago.
- BYU enters the match tied with Gonzaga at 1-0 in league play, and the Cougars are 7-5 on the season.
- No. 39-ranked San Diego comes into the week on a seven-match win streak, and will play its first WCC game on Friday against Portland before taking on GU on Sunday.
- The Zags are coming off of a tough road stretch with four losses, including three Top-40 opponents in Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Wichita State, and at UCSB. 
- The match at BYU is the fifth of six consecutive matches on the road.
- Gonzaga dropped out of the top 50 rankings this week after hanging just inside the top 40 for three straight weeks.
- Whittle moved from No. 7 to No. 8 in the latest ITA rankings released. She is 22-7 on the year and 8-3 against ranked opponents.
- In singles, Vlada Medvedcova, who plays the No. 5 spot, is 8-3 on the year overall, while Domonique Garley, who plays No. 3, is 11-6 overall.
- The 21st-ranked GU doubles tandem of Whittle and Graciela Rosas remained a perfect 14-0 on the season, and is 3-0 against ranked opponents. 
- Rosas and Whittle were named the WCC Doubles Team of the Week earlier this season.
- Whittle was named the WCC Singles Player of the Week for her dominant win at the No. 1 spot against Santa Clara earlier this season.
- Head coach D.J. Gurule is in his 15th season at the helm of the Gonzaga women's tennis program.
